This week end has become my special one… Derived from a reason that I prefer not to expose here..I decided to make this week end has to be filled out with as many exciting things as we can have.
Leaving early at Friday morning, come along one full back pack containing sets of things needed to camp out for the whole three days plus one set of sport wear which turns out to be useless..^_^ On top of that, bunch of dvds, and books also brought along…Here I am..ready for real get away!
Friday night, leaving the office at usual time, to a friend’s house located in a certain part of Balikpapan which quite a distance with downtown. That night was passed with theme “Pisang Gapit Night” , roasted banana with sweet sauce, one of Balikpapan’s culinary specialties. When there’s ‘barbecue’, there’ll be fun right! And that’s exactly how’s the night went..having few friends come over and chat around the fire..
Saturday morning, as planned we get ready early, although we only ready to leave one hour late from ETD. Our destination is “Bukit Bengkiray”, a small forest with the tracking pace in it and the ultimate object in this place was the ‘Canopy Bridge’, wooden bridge, rope and solid steel bridge between huge trees, 50m above the ground. Up here we can have breathtaking scenery and the sensation of pumped adrenalin when the bridge was blown over the wind or just simply moving because of our weight and movement. Surely we didn’t pass any minutes up there without taking pictures. Pose till u drop! Hahaha
We had our lunch in this “Kilo 41”, restaurant surrounded by fishing ponds. The wind breeze, tranquil atmosphere, clouds and the rain, with the ‘Memoirs of Geisha’ on hand make me able to stay there for hours…really nice for this ‘Week end Get away’..^_^ But on top of that nice chat with my dear friends has enlighten me and really take me to that clear and calm mode ..One highlight is that Balikpapan community is really such a small world!! It’s spider web almost link everyone lives in it with various story with its weird way! Never thought that people I just met somewhere out of my current link is actually linked so tight with my other current link, history, laughter, love, sadness, sorrow…come all together in place…
For the night edition, I spend it with one of, I must say inspiring friend, at one of coffee stall where I had my favorite mixed, Maharani. As mentioned, this lady has brought some inspiration on how easy she look at things, at life..so simple but never waste a time to act fulfilling her time with good things and be useful to other. Hmmm..it sounds so perfect..hahaha…not that perfect may be , But her approach to life has really interest me ..a bit black and white though. Or may be this opposite approach has become the opposite attraction to balance mine..
When finally Sunday came, nothing special in particular really. Get up late, photo editing, and luncheon at my friend’s house has absorbed most of the afternoon. And this week end was closed with huge emotion release in Karaoke Bar! Seems that my house mate really need this session…singing & laughing out loud, act, ..but overall I enjoy this session the most..
In conclusion, “This week end get away”, has sort of working out …Glad to have those friends..Glad to have such a nice time, nice chat, nice sharing, which all lead to new spirit…new sights and new awareness…..here we go again..exageratting things..hehehe..
And not to forget, thanks for those all nice sms from my dear friend specially with the daily poem as a reflection…

Great pics! You look so brave on that bridge... it reminds me a scene of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom :P
